Robert CarverPrincipal Architect/AIA/LEED-AP
A native New Yorker, Rob studied architecture at the University of California, Berkeley. He bought a hide-away in Big Sur in 1974 and earned his Architect’s license in 1985. Since the early eighties he has specialized in coastal land use planning, the design of custom homes, and the restoration of buildings of historic interest along the California coast. Recent commissions in restaurant, hospitality and retail are welcome additions for the busy atelier.
He is past president of the Coast Property Owners Association of Big Sur and a founding board member and past president of Central Coast Lighthouse Keepers, Inc. He also was a volunteer firefighter for ten years and former member of the Advisory Committee to the Monterey County Planning Commission.
