Carver + Schicketanz was invited by the Granite Rock Company to submit High Design conceptual plans for a new Prototype Showroom to dramatically display the company’s varied product lines. Our concept was to design the main building as an abstraction of a company icon-the drum from a Ready-Mix concrete truck – formed in concrete 30 feet tall with a glass floored ocean-view observation deck/roof. The showrooms featured modular vignettes which could be fork-lifted onto semis and exchanged with other company showrooms planned throughout Northern California.
